Momentum Namibia has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and grassroots

sport through the renewal of its sponsorship of the Momentum Kids Golf Series, marking the

start of another exciting cycle for junior golf in Namibia. The 2026 series officially teed off on 27 April at the Windhoek Golf Club, welcoming an impressive field of 51 young golfers ranging from Under-7 to Under-19. The strong turnout signals continued growth in junior golf participation and underscores the impact of the long- standing partnership between Momentum Namibia and Damian’s Sports Academy (DSA).

The Momentum Kids Golf Series, a nationally aligned development platform, features eight tournaments running from March to October 2026. Designed as a structured 9-hole competitive format, the series caters to both handicap and non-handicap players, creating an inclusive pathway for young golfers at all stages of development. Speaking on the renewal, Charnel-Ann Heyn, Momentum Marketing Specialist said: “Our continued investment in the Momentum Kids Golf Series reflects our commitment to developing Namibia’s future talent, both on and off the course. This partnership goes beyond sport - it’s about building confidence, discipline, and opportunities for young golfers to thrive in a game they are passionate about.”

The opening tournament was played in a medal format using a double par scoring system, ensuring a balance between competitiveness and accessibility for all skill levels. A notable highlight from the event was the increased participation of young girls across multiple age groups, signalling positive progress in growing the women’s game in Namibia. Damian da Silva, Head Coach and founder of Damian’s Sports Academy, welcomed the renewal: “The Momentum Kids Golf Series has become a cornerstone of junior golf development in Namibia. With Momentum’s continued support, we are able to provide consistent, high-quality

competitive opportunities that nurture talent and grow the game nationally.”

The series plays a vital role in supporting the NAMKIDS National Order of Merit, offering young players the opportunity to earn rankings and progress within the national golf development system. As the 2026 season unfolds, the Momentum Kids Golf Series is set to once again deliver meaningful impact - strengthening participation, fostering talent, and building Momentum’s legacy in youth and sporting development across Namibia. The next tournament is scheduled for May, as the series continues to build momentum throughout the year.
