My Zone and NSSR seal N$2.5m deal to boost school rugby
Namibian school rugby has received a significant boost with the announcement of a five-year sponsorship deal worth N$2.5 million between ESP subsidiary, My Zone, and the Namibia Secondary Schools Rugby (NSSR) body.The partnership, unveiled in a joint media release, aims to enhance rugby development at both primary and secondary school levels.
Framed as “by the youth for the youth”, it reflects My Zone’s long-standing commitment to empowering young people through sport and media education, while also creating opportunities for other sponsors to come on board.
As part of the agreement, My Zone will take the lead in broadcasting and reporting on school sports events.
Working alongside Synergi Marketing, NSSR’s official marketing and sponsorship partner, the coverage will extend across television, digital platforms, social media and print, ensuring broad exposure for budding rugby talent nationwide.
“My Zone’s core mandate is to develop holistic young individuals by giving them a platform to express themselves through media and sports,” said My Zone executive director Octavia Tsibes. “Our approach is rooted in EduTainment, where education and entertainment merge to inspire, empower and transform the next generation.”

NSSR chairperson Ainsley Daniels hailed the partnership as a milestone for the future of Namibian rugby. “This partnership ensures more young players across Namibia gain access to quality opportunities and exposure. It is about more than financial support – it builds a foundation of discipline, teamwork and excellence through rugby,” he said.
