Namibian fistball league returns at SFC
After a one-year break, the Namibian fistball league will officially return on 14 March, when teams gather at the SFC grounds for the opening round of the 2026 national league season.
The last league competition took place in 2024, when CFC 1 secured the National League A title for the fourth consecutive time. SKW 1 and SKW 2 finished second and third respectively, while SFC 1, SFC 2 and CFC 2 completed the standings.
With the new season now underway, attention will focus on whether CFC 1 can continue their dominance or if challengers such as SKW 1 or SFC 1 can dethrone the reigning champions. The competitive opening tournament earlier this season already suggested that several teams are capable of competing at the top level.
In National League A, CFC 1, CFC 2, SKW 1, SKW 2 and SFC 1 will face off during the opening round. Matches in this league will be played as best-of-five sets, promising intense and closely contested encounters throughout the day.
The National League B competition will feature CFC 3, SKW 3, SKW 4, SFC 2 and SFC 3. Matches in this division will be played as best-of-three sets, with teams aiming to secure an early advantage in the standings.
Youth competitions will also take place alongside the senior matches. In the Under-12 category, CFC 1, SKW 1 and SFC 1 will compete, while the Under-15 division will feature the same three teams.
The Under-18 league will also be contested, with CFC, SKW 1, SKW 2 and SFC 1 competing for early points in the youth standings. All youth league matches will be played over two sets.
A full day of fistball action is expected at the SFC grounds, as the return of league competition marks the official start of what promises to be an exciting 2026 season for the sport in Namibia.
