National tourney concludes fistball season

The Bank Windhoek National Fistball League Tournament takes place at the Cohen Fistball Club in Windhoek on Saturday (4 November 2023).
With the first games kicking off at 08:30, the defending champion of Category A, CFC 1, is aiming for the ninth title in ten years, while the u/11 and u/14 teams will also fight for top honours.
The concluding fistball tournament of the season, the event will be held in two categories and the matches will be played in two halves, except the semi-finals and finals, which will be played best of five sets.
CFC 1, CFC 2, Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW 1), SKW 2 and Swakopmund Fistball Club (SFC 1) will compete for bragging rights in Category A. The first-place team after the round-robin stage will meet the fourth-placed in the semi-finals. The second in the table will play the second semi-final against the third.
In addition to the hosts CFC 3, six teams from SKW registered for Category B, while SFC only entered two teams in the group. The defending champion is SKW 3 who finished sixth in the league season that concluded two weeks ago. Two female teams will also face each other in the youth category.
After the final, an awards ceremony to honour top performers of the 2023 season takes place. In addition to the Player of the Day, the Youth Player of the Year and the Most Valuable Player of Category B will also be awarded.
The expanded youth squad for the 2024 World Cup in Chile and the respective coaches will be announced. The AGM takes place on Friday, 3 November 2023, at Old Wheelers in Windhoek.
