NLV Stuttgart-Vaihingen wins Cohen Cup 2026

The international Cohen Cup 2026 took place last Saturday in Windhoek as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Cohen Fistball Club. With TSV Calw and NLV Stuttgart-Vaihingen, two teams from the German Bundesliga, the tournament featured top-level international competition. In the A category, teams were divided into two groups. In Group A, TSV Calw dominated with three wins, finishing ahead of SFC 1, who also qualified for the semi-finals. CFC 2 and SKW 1 moved into the placement matches. In Group B, NLV Stuttgart-Vaihingen proved dominant, winning all three matches convincingly. The Namibian U18 national team impressed by finishing second after victories against CFC 1 and SFC 2, while those two teams moved into the placement rounds.


The semi-finals delivered high-quality fistball. TSV Calw defeated the U18 side 2–0, while NLV Stuttgart-Vaihingen also secured a 2–0 win over SFC 1, setting up an all-German final. In front of approximately 300 spectators, the final turned into a thrilling contest. TSV Calw took the early lead, but Vaihingen responded to level the match. After Calw went 2–1 up in sets, Stuttgart-Vaihingen fought back to force a deciding set. In the end, NLV Stuttgart- Vaihingen claimed a 3–2 victory, securing their first title on African soil. In the B category, four teams competed in a round-robin format. SKW 2 went on to defeat CFC 3 3–1 in the final. The Namibian women’s national team finished third after a win over SFC 3.


In the youth categories, SKW A won the U12 competition ahead of SKW B, Cohen A, and Cohen B. In the U15 category, SKW A also secured first place, followed by CFC A, while SKW B and SFC A shared third place. The Cohen Cup 2026 delivered high-quality fistball and highlighted the strong connection between international competition and the continued development of the sport in Namibia.
