Thrilling volleyball action in the capital
Volleyball fans nationwide are gearing up for a spectacular weekend of volleyball action as the Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup finals invade the capital on Saturday (21 October 2023) at the Windhoek showgrounds.The NVF Cup has been the highlight of the federation’s annual calendar, showcasing the nation’s top talent and providing a platform for fierce competition among the best teams in the country. After several thrilling matches during the first round in Otjiwarongo a month ago, the time has come to crown the champions, and anticipation is at an all-time high.
NVF president Hillary Dux Imbuwa said incredible skills, determination and unforgettable moments on the court have marked the journey to the finals. With twelve teams per gender battling for top honours during the first round, the four teams remaining now stand on the cusp of glory.
Rivals
In the ladies’ semi-final, Revivals Volleyball Club (VC) face off against Khomas Nampol VC, while Navy VC will clash with Kudos Sports Club. In the men’s category, Afrocat Sports Club takes on Khomas Nampol VC, with Namibia Correctional Services (NCS VC) to compete against Namibia Defence Force (NDF VC) A.
These matches will determine who advances to the grand finale, where they will vie for the coveted Bank Windhoek NVF Cup championship.
With defending champions Revivals VC (women) and Khomas Nampol (men) still in the mix, volleyball enthusiasts can expect a day filled with thrilling performances, nail-biting suspense, and unforgettable memories as these talented teams give their all on the court.
Imbuwa added that the event promises to be a celebration of sportsmanship, unity and the passion for volleyball that continues to unite communities across the country, with the Bank Windhoek brand playing a more prominent role in the event’s continued success.
