Mokuti Etosha unveils the SkyBoma
Under Namibia’s vast skies and near the edge of the Etosha Pan, a new and immersive experience is set to elevate luxury travel in the region. Mokuti Etosha, a flagship property under O&L Leisure, has announced the forthcoming launch of SkyBoma, a unique culinary and cultural destination rooted in Namibian tradition and natural beauty.Expected to open in October 2025, SkyBoma will be available exclusively to guests of Mokuti, offering a distinctive dining experience that combines local flavours, star-studded skies, and sweeping views of the African bush.
SkyBoma forms part of O&L Leisure’s vision to showcase “Namibia Through Our Eyes” — a commitment to presenting the country through experiences that are authentic, heartfelt and closely connected to its landscape and people.
Dining above Etosha
Designed to resemble the anthills that pepper the Etosha terrain, SkyBoma’s architecture pays homage to its surroundings. Elevated above Mokuti’s private reserve, the venue offers panoramic views of the Etosha Pan and an uninterrupted stargazing experience.
By night, the space transforms into what the lodge describes as a “celestial amphitheatre,” where guests can dine beneath the Milky Way, observe wildlife at a nearby waterhole, and listen to the natural soundtrack of the Namibian wilderness.
SkyBoma aims to spotlight the often-overlooked story of Namibia’s premium beef and venison industry. Known globally for its free-roaming, grass-fed livestock, Namibia’s meat is celebrated at SkyBoma through curated menus that reflect the country’s culinary heritage.
Other upgrades underway
The unveiling of SkyBoma is part of a larger transformation at Mokuti Etosha. The lodge has begun extensive upgrades to its public areas and accommodations. Renovations include the refurbishment of all existing rooms and the addition of deluxe suites, junior suites and a presidential suite. These enhancements are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
The SkyBoma experience will remain exclusive to Mokuti guests, ensuring a private and immersive atmosphere. Guests can expect not just a meal, but what the lodge calls “an awakening — a return to the wild heart of Africa”.
