CoW drivers attend workshop

City of Windhoek bus drivers attended a two-day workshop aimed at improving service delivery, efficiency, and accountability in their conduct as they take on the responsibility of providing affordable transportation services to the residents of Windhoek.
Speaking at the end of the two-day workshop, Section Head of Bus Operations, Johanna Shikukutu, said the workshop was motivated by some of the comments received from the bus users and the public in general.
“Some residents send us messages about their observations of the conduct of the bus drivers and the operations of the Public Transport Division in general, hence the decision to organize this workshop for members of the division, including the drivers,” she said.
Shikukutu noted that the workshop also aimed at bringing together staff members of the Public Transport Division to reflect on past performance and develop a proactive approach to help each other as co-workers in finding lasting solutions to their challenges.
The workshop was conducted together with internal stakeholders from the departments of Finance and Customer Services, Human Capital and Corporate Services, and Strategy and Performance Management Division.
