FlyNamibia is set to start scheduled flights to Luanda, Angola, and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, as part of efforts to increase its services, its managing director André Compion said.
The development will see it add to its recently launched Windhoek-Lüderitz route.
“We’ve just started the Lüderitz route which is doing very well. We will in this year, [and] we are far advanced with that, start with Luanda and we are looking at Gaborone and Durban,” he added.
“At this stage, Victoria Falls is the next on the cards.”
FlyNamibia was also set to add Walvis Bay to its Windhoek-Cape Town service in the next couple of weeks, Compion said.
Meanwhile, the airline will add to its fleet of aircraft with the acquisition of four more Embraer 145 regional jets.
“We are getting four more aircraft shortly and we are happy with the aircraft we are flying and that is what we will stick to.”
FlyNamibia currently operates domestic flights from Windhoek’s Eros Airport to Ondangwa, Rundu and Katima Mulilo and regional flights to Cape Town - operating six times a week from Hosea Kutako International Airport.
