NYEF celebrates trainee placements

Three Namibian trainees have been placed at KAESO Energy Services in Lüderitz through the Namibia Youth Energy Forum’s (NYEF) employability database.
“A heartfelt thank you to Gisela Sebastião and Jorge De Morais from KAESO Energy Services for hearing our call and placing local content at the forefront and heart of their operations,” the NYEF said in a media statement.
While thanking KAESO, the NYEF called on more companies in the broader energy sector to provide upskilling and traineeship opportunities. “This will prepare the youth for the sector as it picks up, ensuring that they are capacitated, empowered, upskilled, and given a pathway to the sector.”
NYEF is a platform for young Namibians in the energy sector, encompassing Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, and Renewable Energy. It was established by local youth and is committed to engaging and empowering the next generation to actively participate in and shape the country's energy landscape.
Furthermore, NYEF offers a comprehensive program that includes educational resources, workshops, and discussions designed to deepen young people's understanding of the energy industry.
The forum also showcases success stories, provides mentorship programmes, and facilitates interactions with industry leaders to inspire and guide the youth. Additionally, NYEF fosters networking opportunities through summits, conferences, and online platforms, connecting young people with stakeholders and promoting collaborative ventures.
Through their multifaceted approach, NYEF empowers young Namibians to become leaders and change-makers, driving the future of Namibia's energy sector.
Founded in 2024, NYEF is fully endorsed by NAMCOR Namibia, with TotalEnergies Namibia as Energizing Partner.
