Youth Energy Forum celebrates dialogue success

The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) announced the resounding success of its Career and Opportunities Dialogue held at the NAMCOR Auditorium in Windhoek last weekend.
The event, aimed at providing young individuals with insights and opportunities in the energy sector, brought together over 100 attendees, including high school and university students, as well as early-career professionals. With a focus on fostering dialogue and networking, the event featured engaging discussions and presentations from industry experts and leaders.
During the keynote address, Paulo Coelho, Manager: Communications & PR of NAMCOR, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasising the importance of youth participation and innovation in shaping the future of the energy sector in Namibia.
Thereafter a panel discussion on career pathways and opportunities was moderated by Justicia Shipena and featured speakers such as Nyeuvo Amukushu (Founding Director of Women in Oil, Gas & Energy Namibia - WOGEN), Ndapewoshali Shapwanale (ReconAfrica), Sarti Shikongo (interim Executive Director of NYEF), Gawie Kanjemba (Africa Energy Chamber), and Wilem Salomo (Material Management Specialist at SLB-Namibia). The panellists shared valuable insights into career pathways, industry trends, and opportunities in the energy sector.
Next on the agenda was networking opportunities, where attendees had the opportunity to network with industry professionals, speakers, and fellow participants, fostering valuable connections and collaborations for future endeavours in the energy sector.
Finally, the NYEF extended its appreciation to the event sponsors, NAMCOR and WOGEN, for their support and commitment to empowering youth and fostering dialogue in the energy sector. NYEF’s Sarti Shikongo thanked all participants and sponsors, saying that the success of their Career and Opportunities Dialogue underscores the importance of providing platforms for knowledge sharing, networking, and inspiration for the youth in Namibia. “We are grateful to our esteemed speakers, sponsors, and attendees for their contributions and active participation."
